Transmisson TCU Code 25?

Admittedly, I probably don't drive my SVX as much as I should. Yesterday I had to move it (from the right side of the garage to the left - quite a journey.) The battery was dead. After I jumped it, I got a flashing power light at startup indicating a stored transmission code. Upon initiating the procedure to read the codes, I received code 25. Two long flashes followed by 5 short flashes. According to the chart, this is not a valid code. I am no longer getting the flashing power light at startup.

Does anybody have any idea as to what is going on here?

Any insight to this minor mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Interesting. Does anybody have any idea why I would have gotten that code?

Re: Transmisson TCU Code 25?

If the signal comes from the ECU it could have taken a few moments for it to register since the ECU could likely have ditched its memory on a dead battery.

25 - Engine torque control signal = You're not driving me enough and my torque is wasting away in your garage...

Kia ora Mike,

Jumping the battery could have caused a voltage spike which the TCU randomly read as a fault. In the event that after the memory has been cleared the code no longer registers, forget it.

If the code remains as permanent, let us know if you have any form of shift kit fitted. The signal involved relates to a fault in a link between the ECU and TCU.

Cheers, Trevor.

Thank you for the explanation, Trevor. I am going out of town on business for the first part of the week, but when I return I will drive the car to my office and back to make sure the code doesn't return.

Thanks again!

Mike
