cant get into trunk!?!?
i just bought a 92 svx and it has a new trunk lid on it with the shaved key hole. well i must of acidentally hit the little thing inside the trunk to lock it or w/e, i guess its a bypass or something.? well anyways now i cant get into the trunk, and the back seat will not go down, does the bypass do that too? i was woundering if anyone has any ideas or had to do this before? i have a $700 system in there so i gotta get into it. haha

hmmm...the rear seats have a lock that is accessable from in the trunk...If you have a clothes hanger, a few pictures, and a TON of time, you can slide the clothes hanger behind the seats into the trunk, and acess the seat lock on the back side of the seat. Once thats unlocked, you should be able to get into the trunk, and from inside you can unlatch it and get everything set up correctly

Yeesh. Note to self: Don't screw with the "Cancel" lever. Uber note to self: Don't lock the seat.

Good luck with that. I shut the keys in there once, with both levers in the cancel position. It's really hard to get into. I never lock the seat anymore.
If you don't have a keyhole, your only option is to try and move the lever on the back of the seat. It's about 3 inches below the button and you have to move it towards the right side of the car.

This is somewhat destructive but if you pull up the speaker grill, you may be able to remove the speaker. Then you can reach in to unlock the back seats.

Another possibility is to pull out the bottom rear seat. You can find the pull levers at the base of the seat where it meets the carpet.
Once the seat is out you will see 2 bolts on each side of the seat back at the bottom. If you take those out, the bottom of the seat back may move enough to allow you better access to the lock lever. The lock lever panel has two parts; Looking at the panel from inside the trunk, the lock switch is on the left and the seat release is on the right. Looking from inside the trunk, the lock lever is pushed towards the right to lock and to the left to unlock. So from inside the car you want to move the lever to the right (unlock) I NEVER lock my seat backs on these cars. On my son's pearlie, I filed down the trunk cancel lever to a small nub that I can operate with a screwdriver if needed. There is no way to accidentally trip this lever with this modification. .
