Tranny problem

I've got a '94 2WD SVX and something is wrong with my transmission. If worse comes to worse and I have to replace it does it make it easier for me to find a replacement since it isn't AWD? I've already done a crapload of searching and scoured these forums but aside from that does anyone have any pointers, tips, experience or information about what will fit into my SVX?

Proper remanufactured transmissions are still available for these cars. No need to hit the "what'll fit?" panic button unless you're just looking for a salvaged unit to get you back on the road as cheaply as possible.
