Reunited with my stolen SVX

Got my car back from the shop yesterday and they did a fantastic job. I can not recomend Werner's Crash Shop in Lower Queen Anne enough! In the end it ended up costing me $250 deductable and they payed about $250 less than the rental car actually cost me. It was a real change to be back to driving my SVX from the rental Mustang!

The first trip I took in my car was to an auto parts store to buy a club! After asking around I was told that is about as good as anything. I hope to never have her stolen again!

NOw get the next NW meet on your calendar so you can go to your first one. Fall Colors is coming up. That would be a great way to celebrate.

Actually, it would be Michele's second one - she was at Spring Classic I back in '04.

But yes, do come out and join us again!

I always wondered how easy these things were to steal and if thiefs would even go for them. They look Sexy but I thought they might get confused by the weird windows. I have a club on mine and the glow of the useless factory Alarm Light.

Tried to get the Alarm system working but the battery was dead for a year while the car was parked. Apparently the 1992 Texas Instruments Alarm was screwed if it remained without juice for a while. They make better Calculators. Anyone have a 1992 with the factory Alarm working?

Since have having my car stolen is a sore spot for me I actually have thought about just doing some sort of simple hidden starter defeat switch using the wiring point for the factory alarm. I figure there is probably a limited amout of time some sleazeball crook is going to mess with your car before they give up and bail.

A simple Starter Kill switch is a good idea. Very popular in South Africa. I was over there for 6 months driving a 3 banger Diahutsu with a kill switch in the trunk as no one listens to car alarms anymore over there.

Mine works

A lil too well actually, I often get "warning" beeps when the car sits in the sun from the dash expanding
