June's SVX Calendar Picture

To Mr. Pockets,

There is a lovely photo of 2 SVX's for the month of June in the SVX Calendar.
Isn't one of those cars, your red beauty, Mr. Pockets?
And wasn't it known as , "The Cube-mobile" at one time?

Actually, the red '93 is mine and the claret/black '92 is my mom's. I took that photo about an hour after we picked hers up.

My mom was visiting me in VT last June. She absolutely fell in love with the SVX, so I looked in the paper. Lo and behold, there was a '92 in the paper. I got directions and we went to look at the car.

I sorta didn't tell her it was over an hour away, either. If I had said that, she never would have gone to look at the car.

The car was in perfect shape. An even 40k miles. Mom drove the car far enoguh to get to 60MPH and said 'okay, tell me how much this car is really worth - I want it!'

And the rest, as they say, is history. My mom's had a lot of really cool cars in her life (Corvair, Mustangs, etc), but the SVX is her favorite.

Question Vote for me in 2016

Mr. P

What are you running for in 2016 ?
And, will you accept hanging chads ?

I am running for the position of President of the United States. I figure by starting fifteen years early I can get a jumpstart on the competition...

...and, no, it has *nothing* to do with the fact that 2016 will be the first presidential election that I'll be eligible for.

Hanging and even pregnant chads will be fine by us, but not dimpled ones.

Ah, what the heck, we'll make sure we have an open-door policy towards all chads.

Thanks - it was one of those times that the shot just works out perfectly; exactly as I had planned.

<sniff> Oh, ick - I just pet the boss's dog and now my hands stink... :P

My mom drove both a Corvair and a Mustang.

The Corvair was a red '66 Monza bought new. She drove it for about 15 years and my brother has it now. I used to drive it around the church parking lot when I was 6 years old.

The Mustang is a 1989 black 5.0 convertible. She still has that one.
