How did you 4EAT go?

How did your tranny die or what was the symptom?
Did you notice it at first?
Did you ignore it for a while?
How many miles?
Was it drivable?
How did you reslove it?
How much did it cost?

This should be FUN.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Mine had sliped from a dead stop to 1st.
- Yes, I bought it that way.
- You bet, for 2 1/2 years.
- Went at 97,000 mi.
- Yes.
- Put a tranny cooler.
- It cost $1900.

My Claret's front differential went. Pinion gear lost a few teeth. The Emerald Pearl I bought with a bad tranny. It wouldn't go out of 1st and when the trans got hot it wouldn't move at all. Now it has another FWD trans.

My 92 started slipping in 3rd. Limped for a few weeks before pulling it. Never officially died completely.
Wife's 92 slipped all around and went from working perfectly to dead in one day.

I didn't have enough $ to put in a 6 speed. and I was going to but a 5 speed kit but dale said they weren't good. So I settled for the rebuild. I had only 4000 to spend. So sadly I settled. But I'm going to keep this a for a REALLY LONG TIME. So I'm gonna do it next tranny job. I want the 6 speed so. I'll let you know when that happens. Trust me I will do it. Automatic is boring
