In Lee's Locker, on page 16/37 of the 3rd transaxle section there is an assembly #15 shown in the exploded diagram and labeled revolution sensor: is that the VSS1? Held on with a single bolt.

I guess I really don't understand the entire concept: there are two Vehicle Speed Sensors AND? an actual speedometer drive, as in a cable?

One sensor (which one? VSS1 or VSS2?) reads the front drive, the other the rear drive (I guess it would have to be the other, huh? duh!) and send signals to the AWD system...

It appears replacing the VSS2 is (can be?) considerably more involved if it is mechanically broken rather than just being inoperative (as in having to remove the tranny, etc.?)...
