Pot Hole Leads to Good Things
Some of you may have seen my post "Damned pot holes".
Well in addition to smashing the rim I also toasted my tire. I like things which are not the norm (read SVX) and of better quality if I can get them. When it came to tires last time round I chose Nokian NRV asymmetrical directional tires with a V speed rating. They got rave reviews in Europe and top test ratings in Germany. Great tire for the money and they last longer than Z rated but are still capable of 240 km/h or 168 mph. Fast enough for me. Any way, My tires are virtually new and the NRV has been replaced by a newer tire called the Nokian V. There are no NRV's left in North America. In my search I call Kal-Tire in Missisaugua and talk to an agent there (who has a WRX and loves the SVX) who in turn called the Nokian Rep who called me ( he also likes the SVX). He informed me that he's searched everywhere for a right side NRV and they are not to be had , but not to worry. He will arrange to get me two Nokian V for the price of one so I will have the same tread on both sides of the axle. You have got to love these guys. Hats off to both and hats off to Nokian for great customer support and a great product. I think I'll ask if I can upgrade to the Nokian Z which are Y rated 270km/h or 168mph for an up charge if he'll let me. http://www.nokiantyres.com/passenger...&name=NOKIAN+Z Oh, and thanks to Dayle at Motor-sport warehouse for getting me a right side OEM rim so quickly.
