Used or rebuilt tranny
Ok, met up with a new svx owner today in Wolcott, CT. Hes from East Hampton, and bought a red 96 Lsi a few months ago. His first subaru, and svx of course. Sold him a beige door sill cover and leather case with owners manual. He told me he has no second gear in his tranny. I told him he should buy a used good tranny from someone on the network, and he is wooried about it failing soon after its installed, so is banking on a rebuild which offers 12 monts/12k warranty. I told him, if its not rebuilt correctly it will fail as well. Ive tried directing him to our network for help, but he seems a little reluctant and stubborn. Whats the best option. I would rather spend less money and buy a good used tranny than give my right arm for a rebuild from Uncle joes tranny shop.

Re: Used or rebuilt tranny
Hi Dan!
I have to wonder how many miles on the '96? I thought by 96 the trans had all of the upgrades made, the radiator screen had been eliminated, and had a lower failure rate than the 92s...
