Re: SVX trim code registration: please submit your details
Ian
Thank you very much. That is fantastic information. Interestingly we now have trim code information on 5 or 6 'Version L' or CXD variant cars, which is a high number. I think if maybe another 20 or so people responded to this request for information, we could start to draw some conclusions. One thing strikes me as 99% likely;the first number of the listed trim code denotes the intended model year for the country to which the car is exported. e.g., all 1992 series cars are carrying an option code of 220. The two cars above are interesting examples of this. Ian's claret code 265 car is JDM market, so was released in 1991, but so far we have seen no cars with option code 120. His code is 220, which implies 1992 model year. Brit-tic's car is one of the most unusual we have ever come across, being Swiss market. It has a rare combination of the newer and lighter burgundy paint, code 487, but is in the only market that we know where this colour paint was combined with the black roof and boot lid. This particular car carries the option code 420, which seems to support the owner's contention the car is 1994 model year, although Earl thinks it ought to be 1995. Earl, does this car slot in the 1994 or 1995 build dates based on the production number? Do you know? This car was in the dealership a long time before first registration in 1998. Joe
