Well, I also haven't noticed a change in the shift map so, light or no, I don't think I have engaged power mode yet. I will try the tapping method when I get back into town. I guess I am just really nice to my cars. Hopefully it will return the favor once all of the little issues are all ironed out.

Re: Power Light?

I've only seen the POWER light illuminate in anger once, after I pulled out in front of someone at a "T" intersection with limited sight-distance. Started my roll, saw this guy coming 'round the bend (and could see he was flying), had an Oh S@#t moment and stomped the gas.

Whenever I accelerate hard I look for blue smoke in the mirror.

Re: Power Light?

Try getting on the highway and cruising at 55mph, then smash the gas pedal to the floor quickly and hold it.
It should down shift from 4th into 2nd and run to 6500rpm ~80mph before shifting to 3rd.

NOTE: I am not responsible if your tranny falls out, or your second gear begins to hate you.

Light or no light, if you ever see your RPM needle at 6K, then your in power mode.

Are you sure about that? I'm certain I've seen my tach pass 6K with no light. Maybe I just didn't notice.

You might just have not noticed if you weren't sure what to look for; it turns off very quickly. The power mode mod is especially good for OBD 2 cars I think. Because without it you can't be sure you're in power mode.

You have only seen the light once and your cars have been very reliable...imagine that correlation!!!!!

I have never seen mine shift above 5k when not in power mode.
Mine always wants to shift at 3.5K-4k when not in power mode.

---------------

I was bored tonight so I made this power mode video:

And yes that does say 198,000 on the odometer.
