Intermittent awd

My awd will only kick in when more throttle is applied. In the snow the front will spin and when more throttle is applied the back kicks in. On the road if you mash the throttle the awd works for a second then the front tires spin! No noises of any kind or codes. Clutches Bad??? Trans oil is clean and I have been running this trans now for about 10,000 miles. Being a hard core svx owner of 8yrs and 4 trans later this is the first I have run into this problem. thanks, steve
