Throttle Body cleaning question, pics inside !

Hello guys !

I decided to go ahead and do my first ever more "advanced" mechanical fix..

I need to clean the throttle body and see if it solves my problems of consumption and flicking idling/quirky acceleration.

Here are all the pics I took..in the document posted, it says that I need to remove 5 or 6 tubes..which ? I see too many, some more obvious for sure but not 5-6, more like 2-3 tops and they are on the right side of the throttle main attachment as seen on the 3rd picture.

Also, you will notice that on the throttle main attachment, there are two tubes connected sticked with some kind of thick grease, what the hell is this ? I guess it's some kind of grease sealant to make sure no leaks occur ? Is this easy to find if I remove it ?

If anyone could give me more details about that and the tubes to remove..that would rock big time..

feel free to use them around the forum as well, as I think they are still pretty fine thanks !

The goo in pictures 3-7-8+9 is not stock.
The melted spot on the drivers side of the snorkus is not normal either.
This link shows the airbox removed.

it almost look as if the corner was crushed...unless the goo is melted plastic if some person kinda soldered the tubes on there, the melted spot could be the soldering iron that touched that part ('im just throwing out the idea..)

Sounds like you've been looking in my locker since I refer to 5 or 6 tubes in my writeup. There are indeed more than just the tubes on the driver's side. There are at least two that you get at from the passenger's side. Look closely and feel around, especially between the large snorkel and the firewall. You'll find them.
That goo is definitely not normal. Someone must have tried to seal up any air leaks. Personnally, I would clean it off and check the hoses for any cracks. If they are cracked, I'd replace them.
