One more SVX gone in the world.

Well, it was a sad thanksgiving for me. My baby is no more. Rolled her going around thirty. Hit a low boulder with my wheel going sideways after losing her on an icy hill. Myself and my GF was completely unharmed, but the SVX lost alot. Anyone who wants a parts car 92 Liquid Silver with all the options and a few extra, go to the For sale section. Its been great coming here in the past, I hope to have the parts go someplace worth while, best of luck with the rest of you, and your oh so beautiful cars.

James

As everyone else has stated, we are glad no one (except your poor SVX) was injured.

When I read this post to my wife, she said "They rolled the car and walked away, that's a great car!"

I hope she feels the same way when I buy a second one later this week 'for her' . . .

Really, whichever of the two cars is better will be for her to drive to work. I drive down hill to work, she drives up hill to a ski resort. The SVX gets MUCH better mileage than our '89 Landcruiser.

Entertaining

I am entertaining the idea of purchasing another parts car Liquid Silver in the area, and making one good one. Any one have ideas as to how much $$$ it would take to take a tranny out of one, and put it in another?

I found an almost identical SVX for $500 -touring package, with a blown transmission. Been sitting for over a year outside, so all the brakes are shot too... But I have at least 3 good ones, maybe all 4...And everything from the touring package to put into it. (even a perfectly painted trunk lid w/ spoiler)

Its really hard to think of not having an SVX. to many good memories. to much lording it over the common folk with common sports cars...

How did you roll an SVX at about 30mph?

I don't know. Maybe they will charge you 500dollars for labor to swap the tranny from different car? It will be cool if you can do it and stay in this community. Let us know.

Snow, Ice, and big big rocks

If you've ever gone down a steep hill on ice, while going sideways, you wouldn't ask, you west virginian snow virgin. Like I said, I was going sideways down the hill, and it gradually went off the tar, instantly hit a very well placed granite slab, and Tottered over slowly.

Though truth to tell, It certainly surprised the shiz out of me as well. First I went from thinking "dang, sliding a bit, amusing" to "hmm.. Not correcting terribly well, still amusing" "hmm this is odd, I'm not correcting at all. Looks like the ditch for me. Ah well, looks soft" "Hey, thats my airbag in front of me. hehehehe, its pink" "crap, Im totally staining my ceiling by walking on it like this"

The whole experience was just odd. Adreneline does that I suppose. I was never actually afraid for myself though. I wasn't even jostled really in my seat. Hell, I was upside down in my seatbelt, and when I released the lap belt, the shoulder belt lowered me slowly to the new "bottom" of the car. I don't want to go w/o an SVX.

Actually, I think its somewhere in WV that has the highest average annual (non-lake effect) snowfall amount in the east coast.

Sorry to hear about the car! To put a tranny in you're looking at about $600 in labor give or take. As for the brakes just drive on 'em you'll find out in about 5 stops if they're gonna be saved or not. Chances are they'd be fine unless they're seized.

Well because I can't be driving around, I've got the time to wander on the web. I btw, live on the northern most tip of NH. Canada is 15 miles away from my house.

MY PROOF!!! PROOF I SAY!!!

Average annual snowfall: 256 inches comes out of Mt Washington, every year.

When did we start talking about weather anyways? ah well. better then talking about cars.

'92 Pearl on Ebay

There's a '92 Pearlie out of Utah on Ebay right now. It needs an engine and transmission. Current bid is $350.00. I bet you could make one good car out of two for not too much money.
