Talking

OK Dude

If you call me diplomatic Phil, then I really can't disagree with you, now can I?

Genuinely and no plawmaws [that's Irish for brown-nosing ] I think the spoiler on yours adds to the look of the car, while most others detract from the original design more than they lend.

Opaque, huh? Can't see what you're getting at. Actually Tony is sending me over a set of glass English lights. I am going to transfer the fogs from the plastic to the glass set, and install. Then I will put in a double pair of 120w Rally road burning laser type bulbs. All the lamps are relayed, so no fear of cooking the dipswitch loom, and no fear of melting the plastic lens either.

Then I'm going out and playing me some "chicken" with those zenon wielding jerks [can you say jerks on here? ]

Really looking forward to seeing where I am going.

Joe

Oh, and my "auto" drivers window doens't work, it's only automatic if you hold the switch down ! Is that a UK "feature" too?

Thanks Jason

Glad to hear there is a reflector in there, it will save me a lot of work.

That Non-Auto thing is a safety feature, in response to some accidents where children have been strangled leaning out of windows with the Auto-up feature.

You will probably find if you dismantle the switch bank that there is an extra piece of plastic in there that stops the switch going down far enough [or up!] to engage Auto. You can probably file off the bit of plastic, and get the Auto operational. I did this on a Camry I had [yes James ] and the Auto worked fine. But do be careful of leaving unattended children of any age in your car afterwards.

Joe.

I'd be a bit worried if there was a child in my car as they would probably be stealing it.

Funny that you mention the whole children's heads in windows thing, as both my Legacy and Impreza had fully functional auto drivers windows... perhaps it had something to do with the windows on the SVXen?

The auto function is safe enough provided it has an EMF feedback switch that will trip it out when it feels a resistance, such as a neck or arm. The motor rating for the newer cars probably takes this into account.

Probably the motor for the SVX window is too strong to switch out, or the shape of the glass is too guillotine-like or some such.

You will find there is a reason, they don't always make these things public to avoid startling people or deterring prospective purchasers.

<<i REALLY want a right hand drive SVX someday... with the 4ws and such... >>

......Ah, the urban myth of 4 wheel steering continues.......

BTW- the '92's had an auto-up and auto-down drivers window, the '93's and later got only the auto-down window. I guess they were worried about us committing suicide or something.

I'm posting this before Phil does, as I do believe that his rear wheels wobble (and I'm not talking broken wheel bearings).

Oh, and let us not forget the headlight squirters available on the European Models and the Seat Heaters available on Canadian models (as well as DTDL's in place of the front fogs).

Nope, this must have been posted during my 'construction hiatus'. Thanks for the update, Randy.

What next? Someone find a twin-turbo model, too?? Bigfoot sighted driving the purple pacecar SVX?
