some radiator questions

Hi there,
I am needing a new radiator and both fans, but dont feel like paying 190 bucks for both of them. I found some other "High Performance" radiator fans but hey come in a few different sizes.

Mine being destroyed and all i cant measure the diamete of the blades. Does anyone know what size will work in the size to replace the stock ones? also is the shroud thing necessary or not? Anything i should know before i go off and do this?

Thanks,
Nick

The "shroud thing" is basically there to keep you from sticking your fingers in the fans, however, it also serves as a "funnel" to keep as much of the hot engine air from being recirculated and to bring in as much cool air, from the outside, as possible, so, I would say it's "necessary."

Here's info on the fans:

Thank you for the information. I am also looking for info on where i might find a non oem radiator, if at all possible, and some more places that have fans.

Unfortunately, there's no such animal as an aftermarket SVX radiator.

I know that Dayle (Motorsports Warehouse) was looking into haveing some aluminum radiators fabricated, but haven't heard anything more on the project [Dayle? ].

As for the fans, I know that JC Whitney has universal replacements, but, personally (yes, I'm anal), I'd want to stick with OE.

Fan size

The fan measures 12 5/8" diameter from blade tip to tip.
I have one blade assembly that went bad and have it out of the car.
FYI: The passenger side [right side] fan is the primary fan.
