awd problem. WTF moment of 2005

i droped the car off after my exams(mid december) to get the idler pully fixed and the awd working. the morons at my OLD mechanic over tighened the belt so much that it tweeked the mounting plate for the pully so that had to be replaced. at least now i wont be throwing any belts. but i digress. i got the car back from whitcraft on monday after they "fixed" my awd problem. (aside note, it was stuck in fwd for some reason). they said they couldnt find a mechanical problem with the tranny or dif but when they reset the tcu codes it started working. it worked for a few days and now after about a week of matt mongan abuse the car is in fwd again. this is suposed to be the best tranny shop in the area should i go somewhare else. more importantly, what is going on with my car?
