tilt steering wheel

Hi
when i was doing some work under the dash i moved the tilt steering wheel up..now it doesn't seem to be locking in the place that i want it to..very strange..the telescopic part works but the tilt part only locks in the FULL down position...weird...i was not hard on it..and i did not force anything...any ideas?
tahnks

There are two levers for the tilt. One to adjust where you want it, and the other is to lift and put back where it was (memory). Are you using the right lever?

Nice, Earl. Give a suggestion but DON'T tell people where the lever is.

For those who don't know, it's in the center of the bottom of the steering column.

Ooops - Sorry. I didn't think that information should get out.

Now I will be interested to see it that is the problem or not.

Hey, don't worry about it. At least you asked, instead of dealing with it like many people I've met. Do you have any idea how many Subaru owners have mistaken this feature for a broken tilt wheel and just lived with it? Well, at least five I've met, but I'm sure it's more than that.

i almost gave up on the svx because the first two i test drove had the steering wheels locked as low as they would go. it's a good thing i saw past that.

Oh man.

I bought my SVX a week ago and have been driving it around with the wheel all the way up because I couldn't figure it out. Even with the "tilt" arrow sign pointing straight at it.

How embarrasing.

IT has 3 things in the similear area. Tilt, memory, and telescoping features.
