Recent Top Speed run.....almost (Ran out of room) http://home.comcast.net/~thomasck/Top-Speed.MOV The track came to a sudden turn though. Can't remember the name of the track. Figured it'd easier to ask and search here than seek the truth.

The gear ratios in the 4.444 trans are: 1st - 3.027 2nd - 1.619 3rd - 1.000 4th - 0.694 The tires on his SVX (which belonged to me 3 weeks ago) are 225/50/16's. Plugging these values into the transmission calculator: http://www.geocities.com/z_design_st...nsmission.html ...gives us 132mph at 5,500 rpms while the speedo was showing just below 140mph (maybe 138-139). -Chike

I've got a 2003 WRX tranny and saw 155mph on a very long strech off GA hiway... (*Very stupid to go this fast BTW*)... When I realized how stupid it was, I let off and slowed down from 155mph (~6,200rpm) pretty quickly... So a tranny with 4.11 should be just slightly below that... Funny thing was that it was STILL Pulling!!! I reckon that with someone with IORN NUTS and enough space it would definitly get up to about 170mph.... But you'd never find me doing that... That experience was a once in a lifetime experience for me... I get much more of a thrill out of going around corners

Mathematically the 4.11 4EAT and 3.90 5MT have almost identical RPM's in top gear (assuming locked torque converter).
6500RPM would see 163mph +/-1mph regardless of tranny used.

Like I said. a 4.11 5mt would see 150-155mph depending the 5th gear ratio that the trans has. I reached about 146 I was running at 6400rpm when I dropped off the gas in order to avoid the rev limiter. I have yet to find out what I can do with the 6speed.

Im making assumptions but here goes
I'm assuming that the box and diff is out of what we call an older impreza fitted with the 4.11 diff with ratios
1st gear 2nd gear 3rd gear 4th gear 5th gear 3.454 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.738 I'm assuming that you are on standard SVX wheels and tyres 225/50 16's giving circa 836 revs /mile. depends upon make of tyre GEAR 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th final drive 3.454 1.947 1.366 .972 .738 4.111 RPM IN GEAR MPH 1000 5.06 8.97 12.79 17.97 23.67 2000 10.11 17.94 25.57 35.94 47.33 3000 15.17 26.91 38.36 53.90 71.00 4000 20.23 35.88 51.14 71.87 94.66 5000 25.28 44.85 63.93 89.84 118.33 6000 30.34 53.82 76.71 107.81 141.99 6500 32.87 58.31 83.11 116.79 153.83 7000 35.40 62.79 89.50 125.78 165.66 8000 40.45 71.76 102.28 143.75 189.32 This is the true maths so forget about speedo readings. You decide at what engine revs you want to cut off at. Hope this helps guys Graham F1SVX http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/imag...es/biggrin.gif |
