Alarm question
The alarm in my 1996 LSI is dead... I have two remotes, but I'm not sure they work or not. Here is my question: Would I be better off buying a replacemet Subaru alarm to replace mine, or should I spend about the same ($250 or so) and get an aftermarket one? I don't REALLY care about the newer alarm functions like remote start (OK, so that might be cool) so I think a factory system would be smart. What does everyone think?

Have you tried new batteries? If yes, do you have another SVXer nearby that can try to accept accept your remote signal? If it works on one but not the other you should try a used alarm module.

Hmmm.
I have tried the new batteries, but I get no indication at all on the Security button. If my remotes are good, I could look for a used control box, but I have no idea where I could find them, or how much they would run. Do you have any suggestions? If I could go this route, I would in a heartbeat. Perhaps Suby would let me try out my remotes. Thanks.
