Radiator and AC condenser choices

I'm collecting parts to repair my '96 Lsi which my son had a "minor" accident in. The car's bumper in front of him slid over his front bumper and also damaged the radiator and condenser. I'm assuming that it's best to put in a new one rather than a 15-20 year old part.
I searched through the forum and it looks like the best choices for a radiator is OEM ($400+) and the PWR replacement ($500+). Any other ideas?
As far as the AC condenser, since it's aluminum, is it OK to put in a used 20 year old part? Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

Many members including myself have had excellent results with these Silla radiators ($150.00). I've had one in my '92 for 4+ years now.

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

OK, thanks for the input. How about the condenser. Is it OK to use a 20 year old condenser?

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

I haaven't heard of any problems with using them. They don't flow water and corrode internally like radiators do. They usually only fail from external damage.

I am sure others can comment further.

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

Hmmm. I just noticed that the '92 AC condenser has a different part number than a '93-'97 condenser. Does anyone what is different?

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

Probably something to do with the refrigerant changeover from R12 to 134a after 1992.

Re: Radiator and AC condenser choices

another vote for the Silla radiator, works a treat (made in China) and the price is great. I got mine from a classic car outfit for free shipping. I think I d the radiator and this site came up.

I vote for a new condenser vs an used unit simply due to the connections that may leak on you. Remember these condensers have been in place for a long time and after being disturbed, there is a good chance that they will leak.
