Rear Speaker Grilles?
Does anyone know if the (beige) rear speaker grilles are still available from SOA?

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
65530PA000DO and 65530PA010DO are the PNs, but come up as discontinued when I look. PartsVoice also came up with no dealers showing them in stock.
Junkyard is probably your best bet- they were still on the one I found in the junkyard the other day: Brandy Brow 89 Newton Road (aka Route 108) Plaistow, NH 03865 (800) 292-1149 |

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
Problem is that about 90% of the rear speaker grills have cracks in the plastic. I have a few sets of grey that I've carefully tucked away but haven't had nearly as many tan interior parts cars. I have a few that I haven't fully disassembled as of yet.

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
Very true- you can get vinyl/plastic dye in a rattle can (Summit Racing has it, made by VHT if I recall correctly) where someone could turn the gray into tan. With fading and whatnot it'd never be perfect, but it'd be pretty good. Redid the interior of an 85 BRAT with the stuff and it came out great.

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
Thanks folks! I thought about taking some gray ones and painting them tan- I might end up doing that.

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
This is the dye I was speaking of-
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/vht-sp944 Tan http://www.summitracing.com/parts/vht-sp961 Desert Sand Not sure which would be a closer match though. They have other colors as well. |

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
I remember replacing my cracked speaker grille assemblies on my 96 polo back in 2006. I had to get them straight from Japan, through Japan Direct Import Service, as they were not available anymore in the U.S. I still have the tan mesh grille inserts from the old speakers in storage and in great shape.
You could use the gray plastic grille surrounds and color them with the Seats Restore Dye (dark beige), which is used to match the beige steering wheel, sfiht handle and e-brake handle. Use a thin disposable foam brush to apply the dye and use a tapping motion to eliminate brush marks and level it out before it dries. A perfect match. I used the supplied application tool to spread an even coat and then lightly tap with the tool to get a smooth texture when dry. The "hairs" in the application tool also get the dye into the holes in the grille to hide the gray color without clogging the holes in the grille. You can apply two thin coats as well. Can be touched up anytime without problem. I also used this stuff to recolor the button and surrounding trim piece for the rear seat fold down release, as they tend to crack and fade over time. Again perfect! This is the best option for maintaining the factory appearance. Contact Ronn Stark atseatsrestore4u2@gmail.com He sells a kit for re coating steering wheels. The Steering Wheel Re Coat Kit includes a special applicator pad and an additional bottle of a Clear Satin Top Coat that will add a satin sheen that adds additional protection to the leather colorant. I believe the Steering Wheel Re Coat Kit sells for $24.95 with FREE shipping in the USA. I also used it to color a switch that I installed on my console. .

Re: Rear Speaker Grilles?
Subaruparts.com shows one color of the grilles still available-- I can't tell whether it's gray or tan though. List price is $103.27 and $112.22 each, but you can get them for a mere $81.79 and $88.88. Part #s are 65530PA000MD ($81.79) and 65530PA010MD ($88.88). By contrast, the door speaker grilles are only $13 each...
