Rough idle

so i read through the unstable idle thread and his problem sounded similar to mine but there was never an answer to what fixed it...when the weather went cold this week my car started to idle rough at lights and when it was in park after it warmed up...it runs fine at speed or if i keep my foot on the gas...today i let it sit to see if it would die but it wouldn't it would get worse and worse then the rpms would go up to 1500 and it would be fine then it would start to bounce again and repeat....

i cleaned the MAF but that didnt work...i unplugged the MAF to see if that would make it better but it was even worse...someone told me to change the fuel filter cus idk when it was changed last and it is only $25 from NAPA

any thoughts?

i forgot to add that i took it for highway blast at about 80mph for 45mins or so and when i got off the highway and had to sit at a light it seemed fine

Re: Rough idle

I don't know how long you went after the disconnect but that wouldn't make sense to me if it fixed a rough idle. I would give it more time and expect it to come back.

Did you refill the tank with different gas? Could have been that particular tank

it has been a week and probably about 200 miles...

i thought it might have been the gas too but i always fill up at the same 2 gas stations and always premium...i did fill up the same day that this was happening.

i should specify about the resetting the car though...i reset it and it still bobbled a little bit (i have a feeling because the computer was trying to relearn it settings) and then the next day it was fine.
