SSM values versus OBD2 values for fuel trim
Has anyone ever compared them? I'm not entirely sure how their related. OBD2 reports long term and short term fuel trim for each bank. My car has always shown one bank as being high but I get about 29 MPG on the highway. The SSM shows one number per bank and I have seen it referred to as alpha ane air/fuel correction. These numbers seem pretty close to zero on both banks for my 1996. Seems odd that they differ so much. Another funky thing about the high bank on OBD2 is that the long term number will be high with the A/C on but the short term will be high if the A/C is off.
