Trans problems (auto)

I recently purchased a 92 ls-l and drove it home with no issues except that holding speed at or above 40 it will act like it randomly shifts and the rpms rise 500-1500. It does it under light- moderate load and if you stomp it problem solved... until you get back out of it. Under heavy load/acceleration its fine past 80 (didn't push any farther). My thoughts are either tcc is **** or I'm losing 4th/od. SVXi are still fairly new to me so I'm still learning what I can. Thanks for any info and help.

Re: Trans problems (auto)

Check the tps calibration (there is a doc in the how-to section). A faulty tps signal can cause gear hunting.
