Best place to get parts?

Hey all. Time to do a bit of work on the svx, and I'm just curious what place has the best deal on parts. Lots of times I go to NAPA here in town cause they can get lots of parts and I just put them on my account, but more often than not they don't have the SVX parts. (surprise!)

Anyway, I'm in need of some valve cover gaskets and some o2 sensors. Is it best to just go to the dealer, or what do you folks do for parts?

Thanks!

I Just did valve cover gaskets on mine like a month ago.
I attached a PDF, it has the part numbers in it if you don't have them yet.
You can ignore the nuts and bolts if you wish, I chose to replace them.

Re: Best place to get parts?

I get all of my Subaru-only parts from Jason Douglas in Washington State,
Mike Scarff Subaru of Auburn

He's the parts manager.

Depending on the parts? Napa, AZ, Advance, Rock, etc.

For Subaru parts I call Russ at Liberty Subaru, in NJ. Ask for the "subaru-svx.net" pricing. The pricing is the same as the others and they only charge the actual shipping costs, no handling charges.

Re: Best place to get parts?

Excellent, I'll check all these places and compare the prices.

Also, I noticed when I was looking for o2 sensors that there are different brands, etc... and that price varied quite a bit between the brands. Should I stick with say... Bosch, or is a Walker just fine? Also, Are the fronts and the rears different part numbers? How about side to side?

Sorry, I'm not trying to be lazy, I just haven't gotten under there even and looked at them yet. I just know that my mileage is starting to go down and figured that the o2's are getting kinda worn out.

I would highly recommend getting your O2's from Advance Auto parts online.... they sell the NGK's (NTK) for $50 which have worked well for many here, including myself. For my specialty parts, I go thru Jamie at http://www.subarugenuineparts.com and have received my stuff pretty fast.
