Block Heater Install?

I heard it was a factory option on SVXs, and wondering how much they went for. I would like to install one before the cold weather hits. Any idea how much installation runs for them as well?

Re: Block Heater Install?

I checked this last year and I think if I remember right, it's the same as all the other subaru's. The trick is getting a square drive big enough to get the plug out of the engine block. It is done from underneath the car. I think I would have the dealer do it if I couldn't get the square drive. I also think that if the person doing it is fast with the take out and put in the coolant could stay. But well you know I got a bunch of miles on mine. Liberty Subaru in Oradell will give you a discount on parts. It should save you gas in the winter. Turn it on a timer one hour before you go.
