Question Unmatched tires

Just bought a 92 pearlie to add to my fleet. My question is about the tires; they are unmatched. The front ones are Dunlop SP 5000 with 3,000 miles, and the back ones are Bridgestone potenzas. (more miles, but still lots of tread left)
The question is ----- Do I put 2 more Dunlops on it before I drive it to the meet and then home in July, or do I drive the car home and then put new Dunlop tires on sometime after I get home (almost 3,000 more miles) I have heard that even 1/4 of an inch difference in tire diameter can cause problems, as well as unmatched tread patterns.
To change or not to change - that is the question!!!! My thought is that I should change the tires before I drive to the meet and then home. What are your thoughts or ideas? Thanks in advance.

I would check the circumference of the tyres (tires) at the middle of the tread accurately with a tape and report back the difference if any as someone may have a tolerence figure published in a specification.

It is recommended that the the rolling distance should be the same front and rear but surely a slight tolerence is acceptable. A variation front and rear makes the centre diff. set up work overtime.

You will appreciate that the wear factor must be taken into account as well as the brand and tread pattern. A new matched set from go, rotated regularly is the best way to go but we all have financial limits to be sure.

Significant Technical Input
Another way to look at it...

If you replace the two now you should be O.K. for some time. If you wait you'll surely have to replace all four, as the two current will be too worn to match properly. Just something to think about...
