Bin done by an Aussie.

Australian, Malcolm Beare built the first six stroke engine, based on a Ducati V Twin. There was a lot about it on the web, but it looks like Brabham has bought it and closed shop.

I remember reading a test that Alan Cathcart did on it in a bike. Looked promising. used ports, and rotary disc valves, with a cylinder head insert, that moved up and down.

Harvey,

Harvey,
How far are you from Queensland?? have a friend that lives there!
Been talking to her for 6 years now, and haven't done that since today!!!

I might be 'dropping by' for a visit this year!

I guess the cams turn 1/3 the speed of the crank (as opposed to 1/2)

A bit more in it than that. Gee the years of mistreating the gray matter are beginning to tell, I'll see if I can dig up the info that I had then. Had a gif of the engine running.

Harvey,
I have just found out that Malcolm Beare has just got his 6 stroke engine technology back from JBE who were trying to take him and his technology for a ride.

This is a link to his site, have a look at the video of the burnout on the sr500. This engine develops huge amounts of torque from idle up.
