First of all, let me check the troubleshooting section of the manuals to try and diagnose your problem -- unfortunately, it'll have to wait 'til I get home tonight.

Otherwise, post a message in the "Wanted. For Sale" forum for an actuator. There are several members selling parts right now.

If the motor's locking it's just doing what it's being told. There could be a shorted wire someplace or it could even be the security module.

There's also that mysterious "timer" module (haven't quite figured that thing out yet).

I can tell you a little about the central locking, assuming it's the same as my Legacy.

The locking is controlled by a single wire that runs from the driver's door lock to the controller. When the wire is earthed, the controller unlocks the door. When the wire is not earthed, the controller locks the door.

When you turn the key to unlock, the lock mechanism moves to the unlock position, this closes a switch which connects an earth to the control wire. Then the controller unlocks both motors. The fact that the lock mechanism is now in the unlock position is supposed to keep the earth applied to the wire so the doors should stay unlocked.

When you turn the key to lock, the mechanism moves to the lock position and releases the earth from the control wire, which causes the controller to lock both motors.

It sounds like in your case, the earth is not remaining applied to the control wire when you remove the key. I would check the microswitches on the lock mechanism and the wires leading to them.

That's how I remember it from when I installed my alarm. I think the principle is right anyway.

Phil.

Mine does the same thing only if I remove the fuse and replace it everything works normally for a certain time then we are back to getting locked out.
