band adjustment

After adjusting my band two weeks ago because my car would flare in second gear from 4 to 6000 rpm before shifting to third.Today I noticed the flaring is back and after making some more turns clockwise,I now have no overdrive and major reving in second gear.My adjusting screw don't have any threads left for clockwise adjustment, also I did hear a little rattle so I parked the car.I think I'm about due for another tranny, this one has a full two years of nos abuse,so I'm not disappointed at all.Should I make some more adjustments or called my local AAMCO because the offer a lifetime warranty since this vehicle is two wheel drive.Any ideas. My racing days are over.

I would start by turning the band screw clockwise (into the tranny) until it stop. Then back it off three full turns. If the screw does not stop and you have no wore threads sticking out of the tranny then the band clamp is broke.

in that case I would find a tranny shop that knows the 4EAT tranny and the SVX. With AAMCO your SVX might spend more time with them than you. I would shop around before commiting to a tranny shop.

AAMCO gave me a price of 3850.00 with the lifetime warranty.I will do that procedure today but around here is the best and I know two of the guys that work there and they know I spray the car. They mentioned that its a lot of money but I really can drive the crap out it now because the the warranty,I have the money but that was for my a EVO OR STI,next summer, but deep in the back of my mind I may stick with the svx but with awd and a stick, thanks for the info.

That sounds good.
If you have to rebuild see if they will use the parts from Level Ten. They make a kit for a stage 3 tranny. Kit might be cheaper than subie parts.

I checked with AAMCO about performance parts for the tranny, well that would void my warranty,so I plan on taking it easy on the car now,I already have buyers for both of my zex kits.
