The title says it all.

I'll start:

Yesterday I saw that my radiator cracked and the power steering pump is probably on the way out as the whine is getting louder especially around corners. The o-rings are brand new so don't bother mentioning that.

Now for a shocker - the local Winnipeg Subaru Dealership wants....CAD$800 for a radiator!!!! WTF!?!?!

Even with the current exchange rate of 0.762813 that's still USD$610.25. Are they gold plated now???

I had the rad plastic welded this morning for $75 and the guy guarantees his work for 6 months. I'll probably end up getting a replacement rad built to replace this one once I can afford it.

The rad held good all the way home but after my "spirited" drive to work there was a very small leak again. I'll get him to fix it maybe tomorrow.

As a somewhat related meet monster issue, The USB port likely fried on the laptop I was planning on bringing to host the webcam on. Now I have to go buy a PCMCIA USB card. Maybe I'll search the local forsale newsgroups for one when I get home.

Does anyone have a broken radiator they'd be willing to donate for research in having a custom (non-cracky plastic) rad built for our cars?

I've been asking around and believe I can get one built for about the same cost as the factory one except this one won't crack.

Three weeks now. Still, no word from the tranny shop. Reading's in a week. I don't want to do another shop to meet trip.

I think one of my wheelbearings may be going out.... I guess the trip up to Reading will let me know for sure... It could just be my tires though

I spend three weekend working on my baby and how does she repay me? Look at what she did..

She still ran but it took some electrical tape. I just spend 7 hours rewiring the alt cables and added a new 8 gauge straight to the battery. I hope it holds.
