HELP- p/s fluid loss :(
I need help ASAP- please read...
Ok i drove to school and back no problem, left home and drove amile to bank and as i left the parking lot my p/s sounded terable. I drive home, p/s sounded bad at every corner, i go to driveinto my drive way and i realized the steering was really hard all of a sudden so i park across the street. I go back to take a close look, almost all the Power steering fluid was out of the tank and about 1/3 was left on the ground, lost would be around town too. I can see it dripping from the driver's side like around the bottom of the radiator, car angle could have made it go to this side of the car. I know the return hose comes up from the bottom passenger side of the radiator, i though the hose had cracked or poped off but it looks good where i can see it from top and bottom, if it was jacked up i coulda messed around and found the leak. What i need to know is where would it be leaking and why? it just happened in like 5 min of operation, lost almost all the fluid. I need to know so i can try and fix this tomorrow, i need my car! ask anything you want ill answer with what i know- Thanx |

It sounds to me like one of the hoses came off.

as far as i can see, the hoses are still on there, it islike there is something in front of the radiator, i dont know why the p/s lines go back there but i believe that is the problem area...

Powere steering cooler
The problem could be the power steering cooler which is located between the radiator and condenser. It is just a metal tube that helps disipate the heat.See diagram HERE Item #10 Cooler pipe assembly
It may be broken or one of lines or conections could be the problem.
