Decode transmission type

My SVX has a transmission fitted from a Legacy, but which one we don't know.
I'm trying to find out if it's 4EAT or VTD.

The number on the side of the transmission is : TZ102TBHB-CF

Any pointers would be appreciated.

I've looked here, but there are no TZ type transmissions listed :

Thanks

Re: Decode transmission type

TZ102Z**** are 4ACT (with MPT rear wheel drive), like USM SVXs and 4 cyl Legacys and Outbacks.

TZ102Y**** are VTD, like EU, AUD and JDM SVXs and most (?) six cyl Legacys and Outbacks....

All these are 4EATs, i.e. four speed trannies.

I have never seen a TZ102T**** code.

My Tranny has A TZ102Z, do I understand you to mean that this tranny is not the proper one for my AWD mod. This is what was in the car when I bought it, and it sounds like it's on it's way out, even though the PO was supposed to have spent 2k having it done. Sending a pm ....

Re: Decode transmission type

No GRN NVY, your trans is correct. There were no 'Y' first generation 4EATs sold in the US and very few have been since imported, yours is correct.

Re: Decode transmission type

GRN_NVY, the number that you sent me has too many letters in it.
TZ102Z2 is fine, but should be followed by only three letters before the hyphen.
ADBA is too many letters.
