Rust Repair on Quarter Panel

I had some bubbling on my right quarter panel dead center right on the lip. Once I removed rubber molding under the lip a chunk of rust fell out and this is what it looks like now. Anyone have a rust free donor right side quarter panel, which I will need to have cut and welded in. Another member told me to have it cut right on the center seam of the quarter panel. I wont be doing this until next spring.

Re: Rust Repair on Quarter Panel

A bit late for your problem but someone has suggested to prevent this, remove the molding, clean the area, and reinstall sealing the lip with RTV. Only problem I see with this is most RTVs release a mild acid while curing (or so I've been told).

Re: Rust Repair on Quarter Panel

The cheap RTV you get at the auto parts or discount store is corrosive. Something like this would be better:
