Re: Duty solenoid C replaced, but still have the code

It may not be the solenoid. In my case, it was a bad TCU (the gold box under the dash). I believe it went bad when I sprayed the engine off at a car wash while it was running.

I am concerned that it will indeed require a new TCU, just like yours did.

But I feel like the Duty Solenoid should be addressed first, since the error code is evidence that it needs service.

I guess I should look for a way to test the TCU (other than plugging in a known-good one).

I would definitely prefer NOT pulling the tail off the transmission to replace the solenoid...

Re: Duty solenoid C replaced, but still have the code

Harvey told me that the grease in the fuse holder is normal; intended to prevent corrosion.

And, the fact that my FWD is not working indicates that the TCU might be the primary/only problem, and that I should not necessarily act on the Solenoid Code 24 until making sure the TCU is proper.

Very good to know.

Re: Duty solenoid C replaced, but still have the code

I bought a known-good TCU from another member, and plugged it in today.

Upon start-up, the POWER light still flashed 16 times.

With FWD fuse in there is still no FWD light on.

Wheels are still locked in some manner. Tight turns on gravel = some wheels grind/drag a bit instead of simply rolling

I don't understand what is causing the FWD to be Non-operational.

It seems like I will still need to do the Duty C Solenoid down the road.

At the moment I have the battery disconnected to try and erase any stored TCU codes.
