Driver's seat

So I take my SVX to local detail shop and when I go back to pick up they inform me that the electric seat will not go back or forward but the seat back still works. Any ideas before I tackle this problem?

Thanks,

Ray

Re: Driver's seat

Ray, I found this thread on another board that suggests there might be two different relays involved- one for the seatback and one to move the entire seat back and forth. Not sure where they are located though. Perhaps you've got a bad one.

Re: Driver's seat

Also check nothing is unplugged under the seat. If it was just detailed they may have bumped something with the vacuum.

This. When this happened to be it was because a dime had become wedged in the track.

Re: Driver's seat

Probably coins... Maybe they adjusted the seat and it ended up with a coin. Happened to me when I had it detailed and it was stuck all the way forward for the drive home. Was a tough trip since I am 6-4! Took the seat ouit when I got home and actually hanged my set worth a bit when I removed the seat.
Since that, I do not put a coin in my pocket and get in an SVX.

Re: Driver's seat

Bingo! Removed seat to discover when they vacuumed/shampooed the carpet they disconnect the connection.

Thanks for all the feedback,

Ray
