Re: Valve cover gaskets

Here's a little money- saving tip that I've used several times: Go to the auto parts store or ebay and order TWO Fel Pro VS50273R valve cover gasket sets (for 1990-94 Subaru Loyale) for about $15 each. ($14.99 at AutoZone or $15.50 with free shipping from the least expensive seller on ebay)

Each set will have 9 of the valve cover grommets giving you a total of 18 of the 20 you need for $31, or about $1.77 each vs. the discounted price of $2.84 from SubaruParts.com. They are IDENTICAL in fit to the ones Subaru sells for the SVX EG33. Buy two more from your dealer or re-use the best two you have remaining on the top front corners of your valve covers where they are least likely to leak. Chuck the valve cover gaskets themselves or give them to a friend who drives an old EA82 Loyale or GL.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it really grinds me to have to pay $3 for a few cents' worth of rubber stuck to a metal washer, especially when it takes 20 of them to do the job.
