Air Conditioning Question

Hi lads,

I am getting my air cond looked at tomorrow. It has never really worked that well and now I have the time to sort it out, I wanted to ask what the most common areas that leak. My compressor is OK, so it has other issues.

Also, which parts are interchangeable with other Subaru's (or Nissans or Mazdas) so I don't get ripped off by Subaru when I order the required parts.

THANKS!!!!

Mike

Re: Air Conditioning Question

I would replace the 4 0-rings before recharging the system. Leaks from 0-rings are by far the most common problem.

There's far more than 4 o-rings! I think I replaced 13 when I fixed up my system. And I didn't get into the evaporator.
Use good quality o-rings and they should last a while.

Re: Air Conditioning Question

Mike I had the outlet pipe on the condenser crack and leak. $350 from US .
Get it evacuated first to check for leaks.

Harvey.

That would take three people! One to replace them, and two more people to help find them all!

Re: Air Conditioning Question

Just wondering still....

Are there many non-specific SVX parts that are interchangeable?

I saw on ebay a listing for an 'expansion valve' that supposedly suits "Subaru SVX/ Mazda Protege"....

Liberty/Legacy parts?

So did I - the refrigerant was actually leaking through the gap between the electrical pins in the switch connector and the body of the connector itself!

Hey lads!

I have had it pressure tested and it is the TRINARY PRESSURE SWITCH.

I have spent half the day searching the web for the part.

Can anyone help out?

Thanks.

Hi!

Do you know the part number?

Is it just the switch or the entire condenser pipe? Which I think is 73052PA000.
