Newbie w/ long cranking/hot start problem
I just picked up a 92 SVX from an auction company and drove it home (780 miles). It has an interesting hot start issue. If I shut it down when hot, it will barely start. I tried no throttle, part throttle and full throttle, and nothing seemed to help a consistent problem of loooong cranking times. Then I thought to turn ignition on, let fuel pump run, shut off ignition and turn it back on. Engine fired up immediately each time I did this. Any ideas? Car has 42,000 miles, and is in great condition.
Thanks! Scott Klamath Falls, OR |

Re: Newbie w/ long cranking/hot start problem
Welcome to the board.
Your problem sounds like the CTS, coolant temp sensor. There are 2 CTS's, both right next to each other under the rear/left corner of the intake. There is one with a single wire to feed the gauge, and a 2 wire sensor to feed the ECU. YOU want the 2 wire one, and you want to get it from Subaru. The price and the quality are better with the SOA part.
