OBD2 engine with OBD1 ECU

Can this be done? Is the engine just the same with different and more sensors? The reason I'm asking is I blew my OBD1 engine in my race car and want to replace it with the lowest mileage example I can find. As OBD2 are newer that may be an option. Emmisions, smog etc are not a concern. It just has to run, well.

If you swap the intake manifold, and upper engine harness from the OBD 1 engine, then it will work perfectly. There are less differences than you would expect.
