Getting gas out of gas tank.?

I need to get my gas tank down to 1/4 tank for an indoor show. Any ideas on how to do it without driving 200 miles?

Re: Getting gas out of gas tank.?

unhook the line at the fuel filter, direct it into a tank (or another vehicle), jump the fuel pump relay with a paper clip. if you remove the relay and start the car it will help to depressurize the lines so you don't get sprayed with gas.

^This sounds better/smarter than the siphoning suggestion.

Re: Getting gas out of gas tank.?

I did it once by putting the line from the fuel filter into a 2 litre bottle then turn the ignition key to the ON position. The pump runs for a few seconds then cuts off. You get about 0.2 litres of fuel in the bottle. So just cycle the ignition key 10 times then empty the bottle and repeat.

It could take a while, depending on how much fuel you want to drain.
