my new toys

hello guys, i am not new to subarus in general but i am new to this board and new to the svx world.

I have a 92 LSi and a 94 LS. the 94 i plan on building it into an acceleration monster with a 5spd awd conversion, low compression pistons with a turbo, and putting it on a diet to reduce weight.

my question is does anyone know where i can get some aftermarket pistons?

I have looked into wiseco pistons and they have pistons for 91-94 turbo legacy which is the same bore and stroke as the EG3.3 but they are offered for the legacy in sets of 4. i have emailed asking about a set of 6 with rings, but if anyone knows any other places please let me know so i can shop around.

i will also be posting some questions about the 5spd conversion as my parts vehicle is a forester, but that will be for another time. thanks again guys

o and P.S. i am in the army so my responses may be delayed and there will 2 or 3 days at a time where i will be hit or miss, but non the less any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: my new toys

thanks i checked it out, but the 8.5:1 pistons are currently unavailable. the 9.3:1 are but i am looking for as low compression as i can find so I have more room for boost.

I saved the web page, will be goin to these guys for cams once i get the turbo and 5spd parts around

Re: my new toys

Michael Emery is the guy behind the scenes. Very nice, intelligent, helpful guy. His handle here is longassname. You can call and see if he can get you some pistons.

Re: my new toys

i will start a new thread in the mods section once i start on the build, as for right now this is for questions and advice while i am gathering all the parts necessary. I have just ordered some tools i.e. spring compressor cylinder hone kit etc. etc. and a gt35 turbo.

i also went to the junkyard to get my 5spd parts but wouldn't you know it, the forrester has been junked so i need to keep looking. anyways i will keep you posted as progress is made

Re: my new toys

when pulling parts grab the brake booster, keeps you from having to cut the actuator pin on the svx booster.
