Has anybody ever seen a svx painted satin black with satin clear? im just curious what the world would think if i did this.

Someone just recently did this. In the end it didn't turn out too well but there is a thread with a lot of progress pictures that should give you and idea what it could look like. Personally I don't like that paint, looks unfinished to me.

I normally agree, but there are a few cars that can pull it off, I don't think the SVX is one of them. Probably 99% of flat black cars out there do nothing for me. I really don't understand the trend of painting high end exotics flat black, a flat black Enzo is just silly. Most cars that I think work well in flat black are in the 1930-1960 range.

all of those pictures in the thread were of an unfinished half black half gloss car, the paint job im speaking of has satin paint not quite flat, and satin clear coat over it. the satin clear is shiny but not AS shiny as full clear. does that change any thoughts?

Ahahaha my XT6 is flat black, no pictures though sorry.

I need to repaint it bad, it's more flat gray than black now. It looked damned cool when I 1st did it.

ive seen flat black before but never flat with a clear coat. i am hoping to see one done with clear over satin..the clear adds a depth to the satin finish and a sort of gloss

Not to mention UV protection so it doesn't turn gray and chalky like the flat black primer some people like to use.
