Oops...

I went out this morning to spend some time under the car to reroute the ATF cooler lines for winter and find the front/right suspension noise.

The noise was easy, as soon as I moved the swaybar end link, I knew I found my problem...

When I moved over to reroute the ATF lines, I saw something that stood out... The clamp on the engine side of the bottom radiator hose was loose. I mean loose, like a dangling hoop earring loose. The last time I remember having the hose off was over a year ago when I had the engine out for the head gaskets. I've probably put 20,000 miles on since then

The moral of the story is, don't bother tightening the clamps on your radiator hose, it's just an waste of 30 seconds of your life

Also, didn't someone find some other swaybar links that are cheaper??

Re: Oops...

When I added my external ATF cooler last year, I completely bypassed the stock cooler in the radiator. During colder temperatures (30* or less) the ATF would dip below 100* and the Torque Converter would unlock while driving on the highway. Over the winter I "fixed" it by adding a piece of plastic to block flow over the external cooler.

Re: Oops...

I wish that was true for the hose clamps on the tranny pipes next to the starter.

I dont know about the swaybar links, I thought someone mentioned late model mercury cougar, but they needed to be bent/twisted? I think aftermarket adjustable ones were the most common replacements, or stock.
