Cost to replace Exhaust

How much would it cost to replace the entire stock exhaust(parts and labor)? I am considering buying an SVX, but the one I looked at has a leak and a lot of it is rusted.

Nobody here has ever had to replace their exhaust? I called a local muffler/exhaust shop and they said I would have to bring it in for them to give me a price, but the car is 80 miles away. I would just like a rough estimate of parts/labor.

food for thought. I had my exhaust replace from the o2's back with bigger pipe and an aftermarket cat and flowmaster muffler for i believe 250. Somewhere in that range.

From center resonator back to the exhaust tips you are probably looking at over 600.00 and the front catalytic converter is probably around 650.00. Take a look at subaruparts.com to see a part breakdown from the diagrams.
Exhaust parts are not cheap on this vehicle.

A local shop wanted to replace both my pre-cats and O2 sensors at a cost of about $2000.

Classic SVX
I replaced my exhaust from the O2 Sensors back. All aftermarket stuff installed.

2" pipes before the main catalytic converter = $30
2 1/2" pipe after the main catalytic converter= $35
Aftermarket Catalytic converter = $98
Aftermarket Resonators to replace the 2 precats = $45/each
Aftermarket Resonator to replace stock resonator= $65
Aftermarket crappy muffler = $60 (one that will fit properly is around $90?)
Exhaust Shop to weld everything in = $175

The cost is gonna depend on what needs replacing. Unless your cats are bad don't bother replacing unless you want to put in better ones.
Here's the muffler I'm gonna be installing in a week or 2 as soon as I get caught up on other crap.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...D12266&FROM=MG
I'm doin my own welding so that helps. Additional parts for muffler replacement - 2.25" 90 and str8, 2.5>2.25 reducer and (2) 1.75" 90's for the tailpipes + 2.25>1.75 reducers = $65
If the shop has to run some pipe I can't imagine it running more than $500 as long as cats aren't being replaced. I mean come on, I had mandrel bent duals over the axle w/ flowmasters done on my p/u for like $425, a couple yr ago.
