Burning smell when A/C compressor is running
Just recently, last few days, noticed my A/C compressor making a weird sound, like a bearing going bad or something. Then the other night when out on a joy ride I smelled a burning rubber like smell. Drove the car the next day with no A/C on and didnt smell or hear anything. My wife drives it to work a few days a week about an 80 mile round trip each time. I asked her today, and she said she smelled the same smell again when the A/C was on, so she turned it off. I just had the system recharged about a week ago. They put a can of stop leak in it cause a week before I had put an 18oz can of 134A in and it all leaked out. Air is nice and cold now since the recent recharge and stop leak was addes. Could the compressor be going bad, or the clutch, etc. What could it be, and what should I do.
