this car has to be worth all the trouble i go through
So we get my car back from another bout with the mechanics at subaru.. they say that they are pretty sure i have a cylinder misfiring and it should cost 800-1200 dollars, this is causing my car to have a rough idle, less than idea acceleration, to heat up inside very quickly due to the exhaust heating up due to gasoline collecting in the exhaust after its not being used by the misfiring cylinder head, my gas mileage is at an all time low, i got 45 miles out of a quarter tank... ... none the less with gas prices at 2.85 ... but i dont know if this car is worht me fixing and im thinking i might wanna sell it to a member of the forums, but i am gonna get a second opinion its so rough to decide.. damn 92's with 87k

Do they know why the cylinder is misfiring? Did they tell you what they are going to do for that 800-1200 dollars?
Definitely get a second opinion before you decide what to do. The cars are worth the trouble we go through. We all have a reality check sometimes, where we think "Why am I spending $$$$ fixing up a 14 year old car?" but then we think "Hey my beloved SVX is worth it". Owning an SVX is a hobby. It makes no rational sense but we enjoy it. Some people spend all their time and money on golf or fishing. We spend ours driving, or more often than not fixing, our SVXes. Owning more than one SVX however is the path to insanity and financial ruin. J/K.

I would agree that you need a second opinion. There are many reasons why the car would have that problem and unless you know what they are going to do for that amount of money, I would not want to spend it either.

we can help you out and it will not cost $800 to do it. Follow a few simple instructions and you will find your troublesome cylinder and we can get you parts to fix it. Not that difficult and will prove to be much more easy to afford

the worst would be if they do "fix" it and it wasn't that. it was something else
