8500 for a 97 lsi?

Is that a decent price. I haven't looked at the car yet, but of course the dealer says everything is tip top shape...just thought i would bounce it out of you guys first.

What are the miles? Did the dealer say if the body is in good condition with no dents & dings?

$8,500 is a good price. Clean '97 LSi's go for over 10 grand.

I personally think $8,500 is a fair price for a 97 with 101K miles. However, I'd haggle them down to at least $7,900. Check out the condition of the car and whether the trans, wheel bearings, etc all seem in good condition. If the body isn't a rust bucket or dinged to hell, you could get yourself a '97!

A couple of months ago an Acura dealership in Atlanta was asking around $9000 for a sharp-looking '97 with something in the neighborhood of 100,000 miles. My guess is they would have taken a good bit less.

You're not talking about this car by any chance? My friend just came from there and said the dealer wanted $10,000 "non negotiable".

Example

At the first of the year I paid $7900 for a 97 with only 54K miles. It was from a dealer and in near perfect condition except for it had been smoked in. I consider this a steal. The $8500 asking price for one with 101K miles is a good price, but as tight as I am I would expect to get it for under $8000.

The dealer was a Northwest new car dealership.

Harry, it was a red LSi at Nalley Acura; listed on AutoTrader. Haven't seen it lately (and they stopped e-mailing me about it) so I guess it's gone.
