I recently purchased a bookshelf system with a turntable, so I can start converting my "Old Phart Vinyl" to CD to play in the car. When that happens, LOOK OUT WORLD! I'll be twenty years younger . . . again!

On my recent trip through southern WV the Beatles early years '63-'67 powered the SVX.

Cool car tunes

Metallica's "fuel" seems appropriate. So does "I can't drive 55" by Sammy Hagar.

I generally listen to noisy music: Rammstein, Amorphis, Helloween, Chemlab, Ozzy...

But if I'm feeling polite I won't inflict my music on my passengers.

We like Italian tenors. The bordeaux pearl SVX, SUBYDOO, is usually reverberating to Boccelli.

The pearly daily driver, SVXY, usually has Barbara Streisand blasting.

Damn. We need that ordanance here. I'm so sick of being awakened in the middle of the night to have stuff vibrating off the nightstand because someone is driving by with the music cranked.

Since this thread has been revived . . .

. . . maybe some of you oldies can help me out.

Back in the late '60's there was a song with a Reggae beat that played almost continuously in the Student Union building at the University of Iowa. It was called "The Israelites", and although I'm sure I'd recognize the name of the group if I heard it, I can't seem to come up with it on my own.

How 'bout it? Anyone remember that one?

Steve,
That would be Desmond Dekker and the Aces.

YES! (Man, you good!)

I remember the name Desmond Dekker, but 'The Aces' loses me.

Apparently, his anthology album is available. Gonna have to get that one.

Thanks Ranj!

Talking Shameless plug!

Wow...I couldn't believe that a nine-month-old thread got revived...weird...

...but I'll tie in a shameless plug.

The new trailer to the game I'm working on was recently released. The song used in the video, 'White Rabbit,' fits nicely.

http://www.redfaction2.com/downloads.cfm

I will warn you that, while the music kicks, the visuals contain action-movie-level violence. So, if you have a problem with that, go buy the album from Jefferson Airplane to hear the tune instead of downloading the trailer.

See, this was a thread about music...and the music in the trailer is cool...so it's not really off-topic.
